Warm welcome on ParavuTamil blog dear visitor
I’m a man born and raised in France and currently living in France.
I decided to open this translating blog for a reason, I love Tamil language and I want to improve it at the maximum and at the same time to share it with you. I observed that Tamil and mostly Indian culture are very appreciated by europeans, Tamil cinema is develloping in France theaters and grows the interest of french journalists and cinema reviewers, events organised around eagers people curiosity, and moreover some of my friends are interested by Tamil language as well. So here is my personal attempt to share some of my Tamil knowledge.
As I mentionned, I’m willing to improve my Tamil language skills, that means I was a total dummy with Tamil. I was not able to speak it properly, to read it nor to write it but unconsciously I always loved Tamil through music (carnatic, traditional, religious, mystic, cinema.. All those specific Indian tunes and sounds), lyrics (Barathiyar, Kannadasan, Vairamuthu, Thamarai,…), litterature (Thirukural, Ramayanam, Mahabaratham,..), films (huge fan of tamil great cinema), speech (Paatimandram), culture (values, believes : great or detestable,..), even if I didn’t understand it totally but I always searched for the meaning or the explanation. And a weird proud to be a Tamizhian, that unique identity given to us as a gift.
I rejected all those unconscious interests believing all of those were more a burden than a gift. One day, years ago, I woke up with a inner will to learn and to be able to master my roots in fact. And this is how my journey of learning Tamil started from the basics to the abyss (I hope).
Feel free to correct me in my understanding of lyrics, to share your views about the metaphores or the messages behind the words, to teach me new words which suite better the translation (in french, english or even tamil), to ask for translation, to simply comment my works.
